Program
Goals
A
I had three primary goals when I applied for the School Library Media program: |
|
Goal #1: |
I wanted to grow in my profession and become a more valuable employee. |
Did I meet that goal? |
Yes. I have learned so much. I feel that I have a new perspective on education. Before this program, I saw everything from a teacher's point of view. Now, I have learned how to see the bigger picture. Also, as a teacher, I am more aware of teaching information literacy in my classroom. I also am much more aware of the needs of my co-workers. Part of being a media specialist is collaborating with other teachers, and I now go out of my way to help meet the needs of other teachers. I have become a more valuable employee, because I have gained new knowledge and skills. I have learned a lot about technology and resources to use when finding information. I have learned new strategies, such as the I-Search, which I can share with other teachers.
|
Goal #2: |
I wanted to provide a stable future for my family. |
Did I meet that goal? |
Yes. I feel that I have expanded my career options. I can work as a teacher or a media specialist. Also, the new skills that I have learned will make me more valuable to my employer, which may convince my employer to keep me in his/her employment. I also feel like I am a better, more knowledgeable professional due to the program. If I am better at my job, I can provide for my family easier.
|
Goal #3: |
I wanted to further my education. |
Did I meet that goal? |
Yes. I wanted to grow and learn more and I felt that this program would help me do just that. My expectations were exceeded. I learned so much in this program! I truly feel like my eyes were opened to so many things that I had not seen before. I feel that the increase in knowledge and insight that I gained from this program have left me much more educated than I was. |
